In Splenic, I paint how we change in contact with one another. Arms and bodies wrap around a single torso, and a small light gathers at its centre.
Here the splenic chakra, around the navel, is the point through which we take in what comes from the people we love, from our relationships, from the world around us. Someone's gaze can change our posture, our behaviour, even the way we see ourselves. It is at this point that what comes from outside is transformed inside us.
