This painting is about being born again within yourself: being present for yourself and giving yourself another chance. The baby sinks into what could be blood, a womb, or perhaps a length of satin. It is born from us and carries what we have learned along the way. It is a child and, at the same time, the adult who looks at the world again with the hope of someone just arriving.
When this child sets foot on the ground and lets itself be seen, it brings its abilities, its character, its beauty, its ugliness and everything that is still hard to carry. It has a single request, one only the world can grant: que o mundo me receba inteiro. May the world receive me whole.
